James founded DIGITAL SCIENTISTS® after identifying a major gap in the market, businesses were often forced to choose between agencies that could generate leads and developers who could build systems, but rarely found a partner capable of delivering both.


Having previously managed multi-million-pound commercial contracts and led high-performing sales and marketing divisions, James developed a deep understanding of the operational pressures businesses face when growth begins to outpace infrastructure. This commercial background now shapes DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®’ core philosophy, helping businesses not only generate demand, but build the operational foundations required to scale sustainably.


James now leads the strategic direction of DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®, working closely with organisations ranging from ambitious start-ups and SMEs through to national and international businesses that require both growth acceleration and operational transformation.


His expertise spans technical SEO, revenue growth strategy, automation architecture, full-stack development and complex systems design. He regularly architects custom operational ecosystems using technologies such as JavaScript, APIs, cloud infrastructure and extensive development across the Zoho ecosystem, including bespoke applications, automation frameworks, customer portals and business-critical infrastructure.

James has led the delivery of complex projects involving custom CRM architecture, field service systems, recruitment platforms, finance automation, AI-powered sales tools, customer service infrastructure and advanced reporting environments. His approach combines technical depth with strong commercial awareness, ensuring systems are built not simply to function, but to remove operational friction, improve visibility and create measurable business growth.


Alongside systems development, James continues to lead high-level SEO strategy, digital growth planning and commercial consultancy for clients looking to strengthen market visibility, improve lead generation and future-proof their organisations.

Max focuses exclusively on growth-led projects, helping businesses increase visibility, generate demand and strengthen their position online.

His work centres around SEO strategy, technical website optimisation, paid advertising management and campaign execution across platforms including Google Ads and Meta. He works closely with clients to improve rankings, increase qualified traffic and build long-term digital authority through structured content strategies, search optimisation and performance-led campaigns.

From identifying untapped search opportunities to refining conversion journeys and analysing campaign performance, Max plays a key role in helping businesses scale their lead generation efforts through measurable digital growth strategies.

Lucas McAllister (The Braun)

Lucas McAllister

Systems Architect & Backend Developer

Lucas operates as one of DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®’ lead systems architects and backend developers, specialising in complex business infrastructure, automation and custom application development.

He spends the majority of his time architecting scalable systems and writing production-level code across JavaScript, Deluge, Liquid and other backend frameworks, with extensive experience working within Zoho’s development ecosystem, including Zoho Catalyst, APIs, server-side functions, integrations and bespoke application environments.

His work often involves designing operational infrastructure that connects multiple business functions, replacing fragmented manual processes with intelligent workflows, automation layers and custom-built applications. From API integrations and backend logic to portal development and operational tooling, Lucas helps businesses create systems capable of supporting serious scale.

Dominic Carter (The Boi)

Dominic Carter

Full Stack Developer

Dominic works across both development infrastructure and front-end implementation, bridging technical functionality with user experience.

A large proportion of his role focuses on software development, automation and system functionality, working with JavaScript, Deluge and broader development frameworks to build bespoke business tools, integrations and internal systems.

Alongside this, Dominic also supports front-end development projects, applying HTML, CSS and responsive design principles to ensure websites, portals and user-facing applications remain visually polished, high-performing and commercially effective.

His role sits between technical development and front-end execution, helping ensure systems not only function exceptionally well behind the scenes but also deliver strong user experiences.

Emerging  Talent

Alongside our senior technical team, DIGITAL SCIENTISTS® also invests heavily in developing future engineering talent through partnerships with colleges and universities.

Tristan

Junior Technical Developer

Tristan is currently progressing through technical studies focused on computing and software development while supporting live client projects at DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®.


He assists development teams with system configuration, quality assurance processes and technical research across a wide range of platforms and technologies, gaining practical experience within real commercial development environments.


A recent project saw Tristan help deliver an API-connected geographical service map designed as a more sophisticated alternative to outdated, spam-heavy location page strategies often used in SEO. Rather than producing large volumes of low-value location pages, the solution introduced an interactive map that allows users to quickly identify service coverage by town, city and postcode.


Behind the interface, extensive geographical data including locations, postcodes, latitude and longitude coordinates were hardcoded into the system structure to ensure search engines and crawlers could clearly interpret service coverage areas. This created a far stronger local SEO foundation while also providing users with a genuinely useful tool to quickly understand product and service availability in their area.

Jack

Junior Front-End Developer

Jack is currently completing his studies in computer science while working part-time with DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®, where he contributes to live commercial development projects alongside the wider technical team.

He supports software development, testing and systems implementation work across a range of client projects, gaining hands-on experience in real-world development environments while continuing to strengthen his technical skillset.


More recently, Jack has played a pivotal role in the launch of two commercial websites, supporting both development and deployment activities. He has also been heavily involved in the development of an AI-powered sales agent designed to help learners quickly identify relevant training courses through a conversational booking journey

.

The system guides users through course discovery, qualification selection, booking preferences, payment processing and final confirmation within a seamless conversational experience. The solution was built within a custom framework developed using Zoho Catalyst infrastructure, while leveraging OpenAI tooling to power the conversational AI layer. This project reflects the increasingly advanced development work Jack is contributing to while completing his studies.

Benjamin

Junior Systems Engineer

Ben is currently studying software engineering while working part-time with DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®, contributing to increasingly advanced development projects across automation, AI and front-end engineering.


He has recently played a major role in building an AI-led tender support platform designed to significantly reduce the time businesses spend responding to RFPs, RFQs and formal tender submissions. The platform follows a structured response framework while learning from a company’s historical submissions, allowing future responses to remain aligned to the specific tender requirements while also reflecting how the business typically operates. This enables teams to produce higher-quality submissions far faster, without repeatedly starting from scratch.


Ben has also developed an AI-driven conversational sales agent integrated with Zoho SalesIQ for a national tender portal. The solution intelligently filters supplier enquiries from genuine customer opportunities, ensuring internal sales teams spend more time speaking to qualified prospects rather than managing lower-value inbound conversations.


Alongside his AI development work, Ben has produced highly engaging front-end tools that bridge backend business systems with customer-facing websites, including solutions that display live CRM data in real time and interactive web features designed to create more engaging digital experiences for users. His work reflects a strong combination of development capability, AI innovation and front-end creativity while completing his studies.

Arhum

Junior Systems Engineer

Arhum is currently completing his studies in computer science while working part-time with DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®, supporting live development projects focused on automation, customer experience and commercial systems.


One of Arhum’s recent projects involved helping develop an intelligent live-chat booking platform for one of Hampshire’s highest-performing beauty salons. The system was designed to manage high volumes of customer enquiries by guiding prospective clients through conversations around treatments, pricing and suitability, while drawing on historical beautician responses to provide accurate, consistent recommendations.

The platform allows customers to check appointment availability, enquire about dates, secure bookings and pay deposits through a streamlined conversational journey. It also enables clients to pre-book patch tests, leave messages for the salon team, request follow-ups and manage rebooking requirements, while still allowing seamless escalation to a live beautician when human input is required.


Alongside this, Arhum has also supported the creation of automated email sequencing campaigns designed to improve customer engagement, nurture leads and drive repeat business for client marketing campaigns. His work reflects a strong understanding of how automation can improve both customer experience and operational efficiency.

Project Lead / Developer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Lead / Developer to support both client delivery and internal technical innovation at DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®.


This role is designed for someone who can operate across both growth and systems projects, with strong experience in SEO strategy, technical website optimisation and hands-on development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading projects from initial strategy through to execution, while working directly with developers, marketers and clients.

You should have a strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, alongside broader experience working with automation platforms, APIs and ideally Zoho’s development environment, including Deluge scripting and custom business system development.


This role would suit someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while maintaining commercial awareness around visibility, lead generation and operational performance. You’ll be working on projects that range from SEO-led growth campaigns through to custom business systems, automation frameworks and advanced digital infrastructure.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to help accelerate DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®’ continued growth.

This is a pure business development role focused on generating new opportunities and opening conversations with organisations that can benefit from our growth and systems expertise. This is not an account management position and is best suited to someone with a strong hunter mentality who enjoys identifying opportunities, building relationships and creating commercial momentum.

The ideal candidate will be confident engaging with business owners, managing directors and senior decision-makers across a wide range of industries, helping them understand how DIGITAL SCIENTISTS® can support both growth and operational transformation.

You will be responsible for outbound prospecting, developing strategic partnerships, generating qualified opportunities and building a strong sales pipeline for the wider business.

Berty

Who said nepotism was a bad thing? Berty, Lola’s boy, occasionally joins her at the office to keep her company. Though he’s not a regular, his visits are always memorable, mainly because he’s a bit more vocal than we’d like, often distracting the team. Since we’re all about efficiency, we usually let him burn off his energy elsewhere.

If you happen to visit on a day he’s in, you’ll quickly notice that while he may look like a squeaky toy, he’s got plenty to say! If overly friendly or talkative dogs aren’t your thing, just give us a heads-up, and we’ll make sure he’s off enjoying a run in the park instead.
